Will British universities be stronger inside or outside the European Union

Organised in partnership with Universities UK as part of their campaign to keep Britain in Europe, this debate asks whether British universities will be stronger inside or outside the European Union.

About the Speaker
Chair Professor Mike Spyer will be joined by a strong group of panellists, both pro-Europe and sceptics, drawn from academia, industry and politics, including:

Professor Janet Beer – Vice-Chancellor, University of Liverpool

David Frankish – CEO, NFT Distribution Operations Ltd

Stephen Parkinson – Vote Leave.

They will consider the question from three angles on the night:

What is best for British students?
What is best for UK research?
What is best for the wider impact of British universities on the economy and society?

The audience will also have a chance to have their say on the night, and can submit their own questions when booking.
